CORRESPONDENCE:  My father, Walter Edward Monroe was inducted into the army on January 10, 1945 and would in a few months be send to Camp Fannin. His service number was 44 063 252 and received and honorable discharge on June 19, 1946.  I'm sorry to say it but that is about all I know of that time. We visited Tyler, Texas while I was a child which indicates that he was impressed in a positive way of his stay there. If you could add my father's name to the member list it would make him happy. As I said I know little of his Company, Regiment etc. He was a Private from Alcorn Co. Mississippi.
